My advice to artists is pre-tend, to go full send

We glorify the overnight success. The artist or creator who suddenly reaches complete market saturation after years of consistent work.

The big win is celebrated while quite consistency is ignored.

Going full send as an artist is an approach I'm trying to embody more and more. To receive, we must first send it. And the only things we can send in the beginning are small packages.

But small steps shipped consistently build. They build us while also showing the world that we're serious. A professional doesn't take the elevator, and if they do, it's often while hoping no one sees them do it.

Going all in sounds like a grand event, but it's more like a quite determination. A dedication to show up to our craft, day after day.

Full send, to me, means being fully engaged in the act of sending.

Do this for long enough, and sooner or later we can't help but see ourselves as the professionals we become.

And it's only once we can truly see ourselves as pros that others begin to take notice.

Pretending isn't fake if you pre tend a garden. Tending to something before it becomes something is the best way to sow if you want a harvest.
